Bill Barnhart

BLHS Boys Basketball • Hall of Fame
Year: 1966-67

Bill Barnhart was an excellent athlete, but his outstanding performance on the basketball court won him many honors. A three-year letter winner in basketball, he averaged 18 points per game as a junior and 24 points per game as a senior. His many honors include First Team All Buckeye Border Conference, First Team All County, Leading Scorer in Columbiana County, All Eastern Ohio Player, All Tournament Team at the Salem Sectional and the Beaver Falls Invitational, and Honorable Mention All Ohio. At the Beaver Falls Invitational, he set a record scoring 38 points in a game. During this time, there were only two divisions in the state, A and AA. Beaver Local was in the big school division, AA, which further enhances Bill's accomplishments. Being a profile shooter, he may have set many more records had there been a three-point shot in basketball at that time.
