Year: 1968-69

Dave was a standout football player at Beaver Local High School. He was named All Buckeye Border Conference in his junior and senior years. As a senior, was named the Most Valuable Player and Best Defensive Back Awards and received the coveted Harry T. Greenwood Award.

Dave went on to play football at the University of Findlay. He was awarded the Best Defensive Back Award his freshman and sophomore years. He was named to the All Hoosier Buckeye Conference every year. In 1971, he was named second team All American NAIA, and Most Valuable Player.

Dave was involved in the fund raising ($200,000) and the building of the West Branch School District Athletic Complex. He coached flag football at West Branch from 1987-96. He was a College and Career Sunday School Teacher at the Sebring Church of Christ 1984-95.

He is married to wife Rebecca and they have two sons, Kyle and Drew. Kyle played football at the University of Findlay and Drew at Mount Union College. All three Doaks were strong safeties.
