Mike Rubibaugh

Year: 1970-71

Mike earned four varsity letters in track. His events included 880 relay, high jump, and long jump, and often the 100 yard and 200 yard dash. He set the school record in high jump and long jump his junior year and continued to break his own records throughout his high school career. Mike’s high jump record held for 18 years, while the long jump record lasted over 30 years. Mike was named MVP his senior year. His senior year, he was the sectional champion in the high jump. In his senior year, he was county champion in the long jump and runner-up in the high jump. He then competed at the State in the long jump.

Mike continues his love of sports, officiating baseball and basketball. Recently, he officiated a state semi-final baseball game in Columbus. Mike can also be seen on occasion, refereeing basketball at his alma mater.

Mike is the son of Bill and Majorie Rudibaugh. He resides outside of Lisbon. He and his wife, Karen, have six children. Mike has been employed at the Canton Repository newspaper for over 26 years.
