Year: 1971-72

Basketball- A point guard, Dean was the first athlete to earn a varsity letter in basketball as a freshman. He led the team in assists his junior and senior year. His senior year produced First Team Honors in the Buckeye Border Conference as well as All Area and All Columbiana County. He was named MVP, Co-Captain and Best Offensive Player averaging 15 points per game, which included a thirty point performance against Crestview. The team went 11-9 and was the first in school history to win a tournament game.

Baseball- Dean was a 4 year starter, three years as a shortstop. He won the Captains Award his junior year. As Co-captain his senior year he earned First Team Buckeye Border Conference honors.

Football- Dean played just one season, his junior year. He split time between quarterback, split end and defensive back. He was awarded the team’s Best Defensive Back Award.
