Andy earned eight varsity letters in baseball and soccer, and was awarded the Harry Greenwood Memorial Athletic Award.

In baseball, Andy was the 2005 team MVP with a batting average of .461; team leader in hits and RBIs. He was a member of the 2005 All-Steel Valley Conference team. Andy was part of the winningest Beaver Local baseball team (20-3). They were sectional champs and district runners-up as well as Steel Valley League champions. A true definition of a student-athlete, he was a valedictorian and achieved six years Summi Decem honors.

Andy continued his academic and baseball career at Geneva College where he majored in engineering with a concentration in civil engineering.

Andy represented the United States in Prague, Czeck Republic by being selected by the American International Sports Tours to play for our country in a wooden bat tournament in June 2008 playing against other countries such as Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia and Italy. He was one of the 18 players selected from all over the country based upon his performance at Geneva in 2007. Andy credits his late grandmother, Dorothy, for teaching him the game of baseball, and his high school baseball coaches, Ed Kurylak and the late William Lawson for taking a personal investment in him to move his abilities to the next level.

Currently, Andy is a mechanical maintenance superintendent at the W.H. Sammis Plant in Stratton.
