Dan earned letters in 3 sports and captained the football and wrestling teams. He was selected to both the all county and all Evening Review football teams for three consecutive years. Dan also received special mention on the Northeast Inland all district team and was a participant in the Penn/Ohio Football Classic.

On the wrestling mat, Dan was a 2-time Everett Hoppel Memorial Tournament champion. He had over 70 varsity wins and was a 2-time district qualifier and a sectional runner-up.

Dan was honored with the distinguished athlete award as well as the Hearld Star athlete of the year. He is a marketing representative for the Scott Electric Company. He and his wife, Beth, have two children: Joshua and Katie.
